The Great Synagogue in Dohány Street, also known as Dohány Street Synagogue is located in Erzsébetváros, the 7th district of Budapest. It is the largest synagogue in Europe and the second largest in the world. It was built between 1854-1859 by the Neolog Jewish community of Pest the synagogue has a capacity of 2,964 seats. Theodore Herzl's house of birth was next to the Dohány street Synagogue. In the place of his house stands the Jewish Museum, which holds Jewish Religious and Historical Collection, built in 1930 following the synagogue's architectural style and attached in 1931 to the main building.[1] -
Congregation Ohab Zedek, or OZ, as it is fondly known, is an upper west side institution. It is under the leadership of Rabbi Allen Schwartz.

The National Museum of American Jewish Military History, under the auspices of the Jewish War Veterans of the USA, documents and preserves the contributions of Jewish Americans to the peace and freedom of the United States, educates the public concerning the courage, heroism and sacrifices made by Jewish Americans who served in the armed forces, and works to combat anti-Semitism.
Hours: 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
Closed on certain Federal and Jewish holidays.
On Sundays closed except for previously arranged tours.
